On September 17, 1998, Mr. Leo James, a 54-year old white male, drove his car up the Mount Lemmon Highway in Tucson, Arizona. It is unknown why Mr. James made this drive. Mr. James parked his vehicle in a designated pull-out area at milepost one, where he met with an unknown subject. The two vehicles were parked side-by-side, facing one another, with Mr. James’ vehicle facing south in the northbound lane. A possible suspect vehicle, seen next to Mr. James’ vehicle, was identified as a light colored pick-up truck. Leo James was shot several times by an unknown assailant. No suspects have been identified for this crime.
