The primary mission of Safe Streets is to deploy in high crime areas, anywhere within Pima County, and to curb crime by aggressively enforcing all laws. The mission improves the quality of life in Pima County neighborhoods, reduces fear associated with crime, and improves the relationship between the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the community.

Safe Streets, which consists of a sergeant and six deputies, provides uniformed support to patrol units, conducts undercover investigations, provides training, and assists with community relations.

They are General Instructors, Field Training Officers, Firearms Instructors, Bike Patrol Officers, Driving Instructors, and SWAT Team Members. Safe Streets deputies are highly trained, assist in most areas of Department training, and take pride in assisting Department members and other agencies.
