On May 23, 2008, at approximately 7:20am, deputies from the Foothills District responded to the 1600 blk. of W. Chimayo Place in reference to a 911 call. Upon arrival, deputies entered a residence to find Dorothy Carras (DOB 04/08/27) deceased from obvious signs of trauma. According to friends, Mrs. Carras had made plans to walk with a friend earlier in the morning. When the friend arrived at the residence and could not make contact with the victim inside the residence, she became concerned. The friend returned to her home and got a key to the victim’s front door. When the friend entered the residence, she found the victim deceased in the home.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Homicide Unit responded to further investigate. Evidence was collected at the scene. Conclusion at autopsy is that the cause of death was asphyxiation.
At this time, detectives are continuing the investigation. |
